The Sparrows Fellowship:Â An Online Writing Fellowship & Mentorship Program for College Women
You can spend your summer LIVING your aspiring author dreams in the company of new, like-minded friends and honest-to-goodness working authors!
ARE YOU IN!?From Katie,Â
CEOÂ of Sparrow & Reed
We know how it feels to write a story we’re proud of, find just the right word for a description, craft a satisfying final line of a poem, and then…save the document in a folder where it never sees the light of day.
Can you relate?
Maybe you’ve been writing the same book for a while now, but your ideas don’t stop there. You want a whole shelf of books with your name on them. Maybe you want to be a best-seller. You want someone to feel the same way you have felt with a page-turning, heart-wrenching book that keeps you up way past bedtime.
We’ve been there! That’s why the Sparrows Fellowship exists.
The Sparrows Fellowship is an online summer writing program and mentorship community for college women and graduating high school seniors who want to grow as writers, build creative confidence, and connect with other aspiring authors. Through weekly writing workshops, live coaching, mentorship, and community support, Sparrows spend the summer actively writing alongside real working authors and fellow creatives.
The Sparrows Fellowship is for you if you…
🪶 are graduating high school in spring 2026 or are currently enrolled at a college or university
🪶 want to spend dedicated time writing
🪶 want to be paired with a mentor who is an ACTUAL working author who wants you to succeed
🪶 want to build friendships with other young women who love creative writing, books, and storytelling
🪶 want to learn new skills, gain insight into author life, and join a creative community
Instead of dreaming about becoming a writer, putting words on the page now and again, and wondering where your creative spark will lead….You can spend your summer soaking up your last days at home and LIVING your aspiring author dreams in the virtual company of new, like-minded friends and honest-to-goodness working authors!Â
We want to help you find your footing on the writing path, push you juuuust outside your comfort zone, and cheer you on along the way!
All Sparrow Fellowship sessions take place online, making this creative writing community accessible to students across the United States and beyond.

I am so excited for the Sparrow program! I remember this idea shared last spring and have been hoping it was in the works. Such a beautiful thing!
