We're so excited that you're considering joining the amazing writers in Quill & Cup!
Join an Intimate, Global Sisterhood of Writers!
Picture this: it's a random Tuesday and you're logging on to your weekly "Prickle" with your virtual writing group. You know the other ladies' stories, and they ask you about your characters like they're the neighborhood kids.
You've practiced your pitch, so when new people join your Prickle — or ask you about your book at a party or your kids' school — you can confidently tell them in a way that excites them to read your book too!
You're not spending more time doubting yourself than writing the book you KNOW you can finish.
This happens all the time in the Hedgie House.
When you become a Hedgie, you'll practice taking up space, quieting the inner demons telling you that you can't do it, and building integrity with yourself.
Because every time you show up to the page, you're showing up for yourself.

I was ready to give up
"Without Quill and Cup, my writing journey would have been far more lonely. [Hedgies] have been my greatest cheerleaders, have encouraged me to continue writing when I was ready to give up, and have taught me so much about what I am truly capable of. I am eternally grateful to Ania and the Quill and Cup community for welcoming me in, taking me under their wing, and helping me to achieve my dream of being a published author."

Quill & Cup has allowed me to take my writing seriously in a way that I was afraid to before
"Before I joined Quill & Cup I had no writing routine, no community, and no idea what I was doing. I didn't talk to anyone about my writing, and I abandoned every story I started. I thought writing was something you had to struggle through on your own unless you were part of an MFA program.Â
Since joining Quill & Cup, I've written two novels, attended two in-person retreats (with a third on the books for this spring), made incredible friends from all over the world, and learned more about the craft and business of writing than I would have thought possible. Â
Quill & Cup has allowed me to take my writing seriously in a way that I was afraid to before."

This is the writing community that I had always wanted
"I adore the amazingly talented, loving, supportive, and creative women of this community... and they are some of my favorite people! We learn from each other, champion each other, and level each other up, no matter the genre, experience, or publishing path.Â
But more than that, they are friends. Every Prickle is a surprise: a belly laugh, a milestone to cheer about, a special appearance by pets or baby Hedgies.
One of my favorite things about Q&C is the [Best Feedback Friend] program and also having a whole network of incredible people to exchange pages with, beta reads, gather comp title ideas, recommend craft books ... we pour all our resources together into a treasure chest of knowledge and to me, that's such a beautiful gift of trust and support!Â
Overall, this is the writing community that I had always wanted... even though it took a couple of decades for me to get here, it was absolutely worth the wait."

I now have a real manuscript, a clearer creative identity, and a story I know how to finish.
"Over the last year, I’ve written more than 30,000 words (roughly the first third of my debut novel) and finally figured out how the book ends. I’ve developed its characters, world, and mythology.Â
I’ve also written more than a dozen poems, continued developing my voice through personal essays, and become more intentional about the themes that connect all of my work: memory, inheritance, belonging, identity, and the lives women choose for themselves.Â
Most importantly, I’ve moved beyond simply wanting to write a novel. I now have a real manuscript, a clearer creative identity, and a story I know how to finish."
KAILEY HAIDER, MEMBER SINCE 2023
I’ve written three books.
"I was a writer, lonely and weeping on the side of the road I felt I couldn’t travel anymore. I was nearly ready to give up, to turn around and take a different path that would, regretfully, lead me away from my dream of being an author. And Ania reached out her hand and said, “Come on. I got you.”
I have written the book. Actually, (and this is not to brag, but to show you the character shift that has happened in this chapter of my life) I’ve written three books.
I left my job and started a completely different career. Last year, I wrote a maximum of five days per week, but most weeks I only wrote for three days a week. I took breaks from my stories and took care of my body (I slept! I exercised! I walked in the sun!) and came back with new ideas. I made writer friends inside and outside of Quill and Cup and [now] I don’t feel alone in the slightest."
