A free virtual writing session for women who miss this part of themselves.
You do not need:
- a finished draft
- a writing routine
- confidence
- an outline
- a “real” reason
- to call yourself a "writer."
You just need one hour to reconnect with your story beside women who understand why it matters.

Maybe you keep thinking about writing while washing the dishes.
Or while driving.
Or when you’re supposed to be falling asleep.
Maybe you have Notes App fragments.
Half-finished scenes.
A story idea you keep saying you’ll get back to “when things calm down a little.” (And respectfully… when has life ever done that on its own?)
This Prickle is a chance to sit down for an hour and write beside other women who understand that feeling.
What is a "Prickle"?
(Hedgehogs gather in “prickles,” which is perfect for us.)
A Prickle is a guided virtual writing session inside the Quill & Cup community.
We usually begin with:
- a grounding prompt or reflection from the hostess
- quiet writing time
- optional sharing and conversation afterward
Some women come with full novels.
Some come with scattered notes in their phone.
Some come because they haven’t heard their own creative voice in years.
All of it is welcome.
This is for the woman who...
- keeps thinking about writing while driving, showering, folding laundry, or trying to fall asleep
- has stories in her head but struggles to make space for them
- wants creativity back in her life without turning it into another exhausting obligation
- misses feeling connected to herself
- craves community that feels encouraging instead of performative
You do not need to call yourself a writer to come.
(But it’s funny how quickly that starts to change when you’re surrounded by women who keep showing up to the page.)
"I had sat on the Quill & Cup fence for years. Years! Lurking at their social media account, knowing I belonged there, but unable to identify what was holding me back. I had searched for a writing community since I started writing, often bouncing from one group or one program to another. I love being a part of Quill & Cup. The first day I was greeted by a number of writers, and their excitement to meet me made me excited to be there. Q&C welcomes all genres and all writers from across the world, and that varied experience set it apart from other programs I had been a part of."

"Quill & Cup resources and support are accessible for writers of all genres, with every crazy, personal schedule under the moon. It is like a MFA program with only the best and most fruitful parts!"

About Quill & Cup
We’re a global community of women writing books, essays, poems, messy first drafts, query letters, pitch packages... all of it.
Some members are pursuing traditional publication.
Some are writing during nap time.
Some are starting over after years away from creativity.
What we're most proud of? Hard to pinpoint, but maybe it's that we're a fiercely supportive community of women who are committed to prioritizing writing and making rest a non-negotiable. We make our “kitchen table” (unlimited Zoom writing sessions) available for all members to write at any time of the day. We’re each other’s braintrust and hive-mind... sharing knowledge of craft, research-based practices for an empowered mindset, and attending workshops and webinars hosted by us and prepared by various teachers of the writing community.
